Passed today
I'm officially a "professional driver". Only missed 4 on the drive/skills test, examiner said I didn't look in the mirrors a couple times when I know I did. Looking at hiring on with Interstate, May and Gordon (already approved). Gordon won't let me take the pup. Interstate wants a $700 deposit for a pet. Haven't heard back from May in over a week. Got some calls to make and should be with a trainer before the end of the month. Any other companies I should apply with that run 11 western, let you take the truck home and allow pets?

Roads West runs 11 western states.

However, getting your CDL is just a small part of being a "professional truck driver". Now, the real learning begins. As I have said before, many have learned to drive a truck, few remain to become a truck driver. Good luck, and drive safe. :D |
Congrats Lunker! Hope I do as well as you!
Cluggy, its the "real" learning that intrigues me! The hands-on! |

I had heard many old timers say this, Your not a Professional Driver till you park the truck for the last time. Just rememebr do not get cocky, for you still do not know everything. When you think you do know everything, PARK THE TRUCK, for your about to Crash and Burn. |

Looks like I'll be going with Interstate Dist. out of Tacoma. They let you bring the pet. I've got a beagle pup named "Scooter". He'll be my ears while I sleep. |

Gotta luv these noobies!!! Sorry to burst your bubble here, Lunker, but unless you have gone AT LEAST one full week without bathing, shaving, or brushing your teeth, you really haven't earned the right to call yourself a "Professional Driver"!! Passing the CDL Exam is an important step, and for that, you are to be commended. Having passed your CDL exam DOES entitle you to go buy a nice selection of sleeveless undershirts and ragged bluejeans from the thrift store; then, you'll need to allow for enough time to build up coffee stains and chewing tobacco stains on them. Here's a Noobie "Cheater Trick". Get some yellow food dye, and apply a few drops of it on the front of the shirt, down near the shirt tail!! I did that, and I even managed to fool the experts when I started out!! Congrats, & BOL2U!! |

Did a lot of fishing at Calaveras, Braunig and Choke Canyon. I can't wait to get back there to visit with family and my ol' fishing buddy. |
Congrats on passing your test. Best of luck to you on your new advendture, and it will be that! And heres sending some doggie love to the new pup!

Hey there Lunker, Congrats on the test!!!! I will be going to Central ref. on monday. I noticed that you like to fish.....I almost started my guide fishing business this year and had hopes of fishing Calveras and Brauning for Reds and work my way down to Port-A and fish the rigs when I get my OUPV. Look me up sometime and maybe we can go wet a hook sometime. Good Luck to You
