Graduated Swift, Richmond

I just graduated from Swift's Richmond Academy on Tuesday and passed the DMV test today. I leave for orientation Sunday. I can't wait. I now have a different view on the road on how ignorant 4 wheelers are, and I used to be one of them. See you all out there somewhere someday. BE SAFE AND WATCH OUT FOR THOSE CRAZY 4 WHEELERS.

Congrats LBM

I've got my DMV test tomorrow. 5 weeks and almost a 1000 miles of urban, city, freeway and even a trip over and back on the Siskyou's and I think I'm ready. Gordon called today and said my app's approved. I don't like their no pet policy, so I'm applying with Interstate too. Shouldn't take them more than a week to approve me. Both start at .30 a mile once you go solo. Should be up to .36 by the end of a year.
Wish me luck ! :D

Hey LittleBigMan, congratulations. I graduated from Swift in Richmond back in mid January. What class were you? I was in 55.

I was in 62. I am now at orientaion in Jonestown. Will be done tomorrow. Was told may be up to 5 days before a mentor comes available. :D

Good luck at Jonestown, that was the terminal I was out of when I worked for Swift. I hope you get a much better DM than I had.

LittleBigMan, I was also told it might be a week to get a mentor, then I got one 2 days later. I guess it depends on how many are available at the time you are hired. I guess what I'm trying to say is be ready to leave soon, the phone might ring anytime.

Also, I see you are from PA like me. Just curious, where did Swift's Richmond school send you to take your CDL test in PA?

Good luck.

Tom

I took my CDL permit test in Chambersburg and my driving test in Lancaster at L.C.C.T. I called Jonestown this morning and got my driver code and they told me to call tomorrow to see if a mentor is available. How long have you been solo Tom?
