DAMN IT DANIEL SON!

I recently got a local job in San Antonio tx, and they are crazy man. The other day I spent 17 hrs behind the wheel, got back at 11pm and they wanted me to go back out again in like 5 hrs. I whent home and slept for 12 hrs. Since then Ive only been gettin 300 mile routes (halfway empty=.15 a mile) that takes 8 hrs of beeing on duty. Today I didnt go in to work and they have been calling me, I figure that ima return the favor since they never called me when things changed and I show up to the yard 5hrs early, or my 800mile load got switched to 300miles on two different occasions. Im tellin u Im thinkin of jus quittin this trucking bussiness, and go to my local bank with a letter hahah.

i don't get it. you work to much and don not show up for work on time. but then they giv away you 800 mile run that was too much work for one that is 300 miles, i suppose you can handle that, and that is wrong too. watch out, the world is out to get ya!!!

You cant be on duty more than 14 even when you are local. It doesnt sound like this is a good company atall....15cpm empty?

Ok..what cheeseball outfit (was) this??

How much experience do you have?

RollinStudio 02-25-2007 11:37 AM

Id rather not expose the name untill im officially gone. They require 1yrs. experience. But I only had 6months, so they had me do a road test with a 57' trailer. And I had no problems passing their road test, so I got the job.

In Texas if you operate intrastate the old HOS can be used, 15/10 rule, but either way, he was was over the limit.

RollinStudio 02-25-2007 03:58 PM

well all of the runs Ive been doin wit the 57' have been haulin pallets from sams club in laredo to san antonio. and yeah thats the thing the company has no care for the hours. They told me that their drivers run two logs. But I have no Idea about the 15/10 hr rule in tx. Can someone tell me exactly what those rules are.

So 17hrs? Thats illegal and if you let them run you like that, its time to put an end to it. If something happens such as an accident or something with a fatality involved, big trouble for you when DOT checks your logs. Don't let a company like that ruin your chance of driving. Go with someone else, there are alot of good companies out there. I almost let the same thing happen to me but I went with another company and everything worked out for me in the end.
