routing trucking software

Does anybody know of any good truck routing software thats user friendly and that was designed for the motor carrier in mind.

Looking for something simple and not too complicated and would geatly appreciate if some one could point me in the right direction.

Truck Routeing Software

Most is not written for commercial vehilces. As a newb, you should learn the manual way first if for no other reason than being able to check automated routing. There'll probably be disagreement with my take, that's OK. BOL

do you mean the "Motor Carriers Atlas" . I have it already and have been using it even though i'am not offically driving yet ( still in trucking school ) i looks as though it would take up a lot of time when done on a constant basis.
I still think it's an a valuable asset because computers do crash evey know and then.

But if you know of an easier way to do this let me know.

Thanks.

You might look at PC Miler. I believe the software is designed for just truckers.

Full version of PCMiler with streets runs about $2,000.00(legal copy). It is designed for trucks BUT do not trust every route. I use it to route our regional runs and have found some mistakes. An atlas is your best friend.

Another vote for Streets and trips.
It's affordable, accurate, and quick.

I use it mainly for intersate driving. It can route around tolls, and give mileage distances for different routes.

Say I want to avoid a toll, and punch that in. If the amount of time plus the added miles are significantly more AVOIDING the toll, I hit the toll.

OR say the company has dispatched me running 2 lane roads for 400 miles. I punch it in, and find out major highways willl take 10-20 more miles, I will run the major highway.

BUT... I always confirm it on the atlas.

As for local directions, the shipper/receiver has the best.
