Going out with trainer

I went through orientation last week, and have been sitting here at home waiting for a trainer to be freed up.

I got the call today that they will be picking me up on saturday. Which to me is about damn time. But now i am puzzled about what to take with me.

I know the basic clothes and shower stuff. But things like what kind of bedding do i need? How big is the bunk so I know what size sheet and blanket to have? Also any thing that might be forgotten that would be hard to find out on the road.

And one last question. Where can i find shower shoes??? Are they at truck stops? or where?

Do a search.....floating around here somewhere is a "check list" of sorts for that as well as when you're assigned your own truck

They didn't tell you what to bring?

Shower shoes (flip flops) you can get those at some truck stops - but if you can get there -- go to a wal-mart (more than Likely cheaper).

For the bunk sheets it depends on if they trainer has the correct size mattress in the bunk (like my first phase trainer did) or the bigger than it should be mattress that the second one did. If its the standard size you can pick up a set at most truck stops.

Blankets - depends on how much you like to cuddle up in one. Queen to me would be too big.

TMC? just curious, I've been home since last week, too. I should be with a trainer this weekend, hopefully. Good luck.

No. TRL.

last friday they sent me home at 1300 for the weekend and said then it would be monday or tuesday until I get out. Monday they called and said thursday. Which went to next monday on tuesday. but was happy to hear that it would be saturday today.

And I looked at wal-mart and the shoe lady said it was out of season. I didnt know there was a season on showers.

EXCUSE ME!

birddogg18603,
Hasn't the company you're going with sent you a letter stating what you should have with you for OTR training? And if not why not! They owe that info to you. Get on their butt, now! BOL

search for the list and just bring essentials not a whole lot of room in the truck with two people

I think Old Navy and or Academy Sports have flip-flops year round.

When I went out with my trainer years ago I brought about five days worth of clothes, my hygene items in a small duffel and sleeping bag. My trainer had extra blankets and stuff like that. Two in a truck is tight, especially if you ain't husband/wife. Less is more when it comes to your stuff. I was out with my trainer 30 days before I was seated in my own truck. That's when I fill it up with my stuff and made it "home".

I finally foud flip flops. Actually I just got lucky. I went to wal-mart and they just happened to be putting them out at the time i was there.
