Grillin On The Road
Howdy:
Anybody actually cook for themselves on the road... like with a little protable propane grill... or is this a bit foolish? Let me know.... 6 foot 6 and 325.... got that way by grillin good and having fun.... Thanks |
I see lots of guys grilling in the parking lot. Trucks with microwave ovens too...I see no problem with it. Id prefer to make my own steak too!!!
Just clean up your mess. |

:D Yeah...I like to keep my coleman cookstove...runs on white gas or unleaded. There are times I cook when I'm doing resets. Just fun to do now and then. I did much more camp cooking when I was younger. Now it's just hit or miss. Sundays...Football...brats & beans..or chili. Up in Maine, I boiled some lobsters. I deliver to a Sea Food Dist. up there.
We should meet down at the" Recipes From The Road" forum...actually...this thread will get moved there...no doubt. :P  |
Any advice for grillin' road kill?? :P
|
   I laugh...because I do bag quite a few Partridge up North here with the bumper of my Truck.
They hang on the side of the road...and just as you are about to pass...they flush...like they are committing suicide. Maybe they are just depressed from the winter? :? Mannnnnn...good eattin'....I love Partridge. I'm talkin' about the Ruffed Grouse. We call them Pats. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...use-ruffed.jpg Yoopr thinks I should write a Roadkill Recipe Book....but I'm sure some Jack Pine Savage has beat me to that. :) |

My wife and I cook all our meals on the road. With a 1500 watt inverter we can use just about any type of cooking device available. Saves a lot of money and we eat much better and healthier than in the truck stops.

 I got a george foreman grill/griddle along with a microwave and a crockpot slocooker. i also have a mr. coffee and a small charcoal grill. it helps that i have an apt. sized refridgerator. my gal has me budgeted for 1 meal a week at the buffet. my food costs are around $30 a week. i love pork chops, chuck steak, stews, ect. i have hot breakfast and cold lunch and a real full dinner for dinner. i also have to exercise and walk a lot or i might get a cut in meal expenses lol i would rather eat in truck than deal with all the hassel and time wasted eating in truck stops. my doctor says it is healthier the way i eat.

The latest studies that have been conducted over the last two years show that by the time the food in the truck stop buffet actually gets onto a driver's plate, the flies have already consumed about 85% of the grease that was on the food!! |
:nervous:  ain't the grease, its the other folks drooling and coughing and pickin over the food with their unwashed butt wippin' hands that my doctor is concerned about. never mind sick strangers sneezing all over it.

Yep I have a microwave, but a friend of mine has made me some wicked steak dinners with his little propane grill...roadside.
We're talkin marinated steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, salad. Nothin missin! |
There are times ya gotta envy Uglymutt...not many...but
