Fedex ground

Anyone drive for Fedex ground? Just curious if it's a good place to drive. The fuel cap at 1.29 a gallon seems nice. Do you get a lot of miles?

None of my business, but if you're half-way looking to move over there,I would stay with UPS. You have your benefits, vacation,PTO,etc. Fed Ex Ground, you drive for owner opps, and a paycheck is about the only thing you will get. At least that is how it is with the Fed Ex Ground guys around here. I'm sure it depends on the owner opps. Me and the guy that I work with usually run with the UPS guys, and the Fed Ex Ground guy that comes out of Lubbock. Shoot, some nights, all 5 UPS drivers, the one Fed Ex Ground guy,and me and my buddy all leave Lubbock at the same time. We got a convoy :P I thought about running for Fed Ex Ground, but since there are no benefits,I aint going over there. Good Luck 8)

You must be interested in leasing your truck to them...try posting in the Owner-op Forum.

newbie

I'm looking for my start as a CDL driver. I'll be out of PTDI cert. training in about 2 or 3 weeks (depending on the weather). I'm curious about FedEx as a first job.
Do you folks know if they train folks out of driving school? Is it better to be a company driver for FedEx, or work for a contractor?
I'm trying to stay away from the scam companies out there, and appreciate any and all advice!!

As far as I know they require all their drivers to have at least one year tractor trailer experience with doubles/triples experience a plus.

If you don't want to drive for one of the big super carriers, and don't mind working hard, food service/LTL will sometimes hire new drivers in certain areas. Home every night in a lot of cases, and good pay.

Just out of curiosity, Buster brown!!

Are you considering jumping ship?? I highly doubt that I would fit in well at UPS, ( I don't function well in tightly regimented environments ) but I have heard that if you are the right type of person for them, then they are a pretty decent company to drive for.

I think that we've all made our positions and views on this mater quite clear.

I also see this thread degenerating to the point where it should be locked.

As G-man correctly stated, a lot of jumping to unfounded conclusions has taken place, and that contributes nothing of any value.

If you don not wish to offer any assistance to Macaroni, that is certainly your perogative. No one is forcing you, or me, or anyone else to read this thread; but the element of civility has been lost, and I see nothing constructive being accomplished.

What a twoside jackass bait cretedrvr and get him banned what a piece of sheet
