AAA for trucks ?

Hi all, maybe a strange question but....is there something simmilar to AAA for trucks ? A number that you can call that will dispatch the closest repair/tire service to you? I had a heavy loaded trailer flat this week that I couldn't even limp on and was in an area I knew nothing about, took me a long time to find road service and about a 3 hour wait for them after I did.
Thanks

Get this, I had truck troubles in Fort Wayne IN. So I did whip out my AAA card and called the 800 number. It was near midnight.

They could not help me directly, but they did get me in contact with someone locally that could help. They had me rolling in no time.

As far as asking for other drivers help, the majority just gave me flack. I could not believe it, I was just asking about local shops, not for one of them to fix my truck. Pretty sorry out here on some days.

The joys of being a little independent, no 24 hour dispatch to call.

As far as your question, I wish there were a service, at least I do not know of any. Something like the RV clubs offer would be nice.

call yer fleet manager or yer dispatcher, or go to this website which is all what they do anyway.....

http://www.nttsbreakdown.com/ntts/pr.../main/home.php

this is the national truck and trailer services breakdown directory website

anyway its were you will find the closest repairman if you got internet in the truck, if not this is where yer fleet manager will go to find one for you

If you have a PDCA card from Transportation Alliance Bank, there is a service attached where they will contact someone to come to your aid if you break down. They do it for a flat fee in addition to what the service charges. I believe they charge $45. You can apply for the card by picking up an application from any Flying J. You may also be able to apply on line. 800-398-8591 is the number for TAB. Just hit 0 and they should be able to give you the number. You can also go to www.foglinesoftware.com. Click on links and you should find one for repair shops. Put in your zip code or nearby city and state and those in the area should pop up.

GMAN, thank you so much that is what I was looking for !!! I really don't have a fleet manager or dispatcher in the traditional since. Very small 2 truck operation and the guy that "dispatches" my loads is new and knows very little as of yet. He also works from 8 to 5 and I am on the road much eariler and much later at times so really no in house backup. Also no internet on truck.
Thanks,
David

AAA for trucks.

As a long time Heavy duty towing operator we had 2 or 3 road service providers we worked with. One has already been listed here. You could also try the American Towing Alliance http://www.amtowa.comor Cdi breakdow...ies belong to.
