Logbook regulations?
 

Hi, :D

I am considering becoming an OTR truck driver. I have two question.

First,

What is the legal amount of time you can drive before having to rest and which companies follow this policy?

Second,

What is the best form of compensation for mileage traveled?

I just want to understand the main points of this career. ie: time limits and mileage compensations

Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated. :D

11 hours driving within a 14 hour period, and then 10 hours off. These are FEDERAL regulations, and all companies are required to follow them.

Most companies pay by the mile. Some, however, pay by percentage (but they rarely take new drivers).

Pay -- Best Rate Is Hub miles or Percentage. Depends on several factors.
