I think Conway has an LTL terminal out of Hickory. Do a google search for "trucking jobs" and "hickory, nc" and "regional"

Best of luck!

HO Wolding has a SE regional, Crete may also.

Crete will not take you. Not enough experience. HO Wolding a good company but doesnt pay anything. You dont have a big choice because you are considered a student. Unless you know somebody, forget local.

So are you saying Crete will not hire a student?

If so, YOU better know what you're talking about before posting....because they DO hire student grads

From Crete's Website:

Student/Limited-Experience Company Driver

Crete Carrier Corporation, in cooperation with Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE, offers professional truck driver training. This opportunity combines general instruction towards earning your CDL from SCC and eight weeks of over-the-road training with a certified company driver trainer. Upon successful completion of the program, a student will be assigned a truck and begin a solo driving career.

Crete Carrier Corporation will also accept qualified student drivers from other industry-related Professional Truck Drive Institutes or equivalent approved school or programs.
Looks like they do take students and from some non-PTDI schools.

I have, spoke with a recruiter by the name of Bill W.

So what is "it" that I am missing???? (seriously, since I am interested in Crete)

fkbmlb 11-29-2006 04:19 PM

he doesnt have hazmat

Have a valid Class (A) C.D.L. with HAZMAT endorsement

devildice 11-29-2006 04:23 PM

OK, but the poster stated he was graduating from school....never said what class of CDL and never mentioned anything about endorsements, yet you reply with the above.....

fkbmlb 11-29-2006 04:27 PM

whats your point. My point was made they wont hire him

They will if he's coming from a PTDI certified school.

why won't they hire him???? Do you know him? Do you know he does not have a class A? Do you know that he does not have a hazmat endorsement? If so ok then.

But if you were wrong in your post about Crete not hiring students, then just say so and lets put this to rest.

LD27 11-29-2006 11:30 PM

I started this topic.
Just for the record, the school is certified, it is a 384 hour community college course.
I have my Hazmat endorsement.

I have no problem finding a job. But I would prefer to drive regional in the southeast.

Thanks for your help.

See you on the road!
