Age of drivers

Is trucking a job someone can get into for the first time at the age of about 60? Is there ageism in the industry? In other words, would companies not hire someone because they are too old and don't have enough experience?

I am almost 60 been in and out since age 20 before cdl and drug screening in my retirement now I still like the play money for wife and I to use for pleasures we missed when younger. I run 450 miles 2 to 4 times a week as needed. Not sure what you seek I have owned 5 nice tractors dump trailers and a detach (rgn) in my life now a company driver part time.
Good luck in your endeavors

Age doesn't have to be a barrier to getting into trucking. While some companies might have age or experience preferences, there are plenty of others that value mature, responsible drivers. Good luck with your job search, @Tchulkaturin!
