CDL School drop outs
 

I have read many posts here and over at pumpkin driver as well as some other sites about people who get accepted to the company training and then flunk out do to medical reasons...

My question is what actually causes these medical flunk outs???

I am worried about this because of my blood pressure, it is under control with meds but I am wondering if this is going to b a problem for me....

There are a lot of potential reasons why a person may "fail" a DOT physical.

It could be that they do not meet something in the FMCSA regs or it could be that they are taking a medication that some company or another has an issue with even though another company may not.

Physical Qualifications of Drivers

I've wondered about that myself- seems like it'd be cheaper to have prospective students do a DOT before bringing them to the 'school'... or not- dunno.

I know some do it that way, anyway.

My school (CDS in Lakewood, WA) made me take a DOT physical before starting class. Then I had to take another one to get hired on with the company I'm working for.
