qualcomm for internet?
Does anybody know if it is possible to conect a laptop to the internet via qualcomm?if not what do you use?
|
I doubt it and even if there was would be expensive qualcommcharges hugeamount for their service.
I use a cingular broadband card and i have neverhada problem getting internet service anwhere east of chicago from florida to maine. I have heard verizon is good as well these cards run about 60 a month |
I'net/Qualcomm
Some companies have driver i'net access thru their Qualcomm, but it's way expensive as Q'comm charges by the character. WiFi or broadband WiFi would be cheaper for the driver. BOL

Be careful on selecting Verizon. There are a lot of really ticked-off Verizon customers out there. Their "unlimited service" is really a limited service and they will kick you out of their network if you exceed the monthly amount.

I have Sprint's wireless internet - gotta say, I love it. I'm still looking for a place where I don't have internet access now.

i had and have verizon again. They terminated me for over use. But all you have to do is call them and they turn you back on. I think I had to pay the activation fee again or whatever. But needless to say I am impressed with verizons aircard so I got it again. They paid for all the other fees to terminate or whatever. And made it really easy to get reconnected. So not real sure why they even do it. But as the agreement says in Verizon and Cingular. No downloading, uploading and streaming video. I think what got me I downloaded like 600 songs in 1 month so i quit the downloading of music.... lol. Between that and streaming video with my daughter. Good luck

when you travel to Canada does the sprint card work there or just the USA?
|
Ya - Sprint is $59.99 if you have a cell phone through them, which I do.
Also, Sprint doesn't have the dowload limitations that they have at Verizon. Last month alone I downloaded about 10gigs worth of stuff. In fact, I'm downloading right now @ 125k/sec in Statesville, NC. |
Here is a nice comparison of Sprint, Verizon and Cingular
http://www.evdoforums.com/thread1235.html One of the key points: Verizon has significantly more restrictive terms of service with cancellation notices sent to heavy users (appears to be at around 5-10GB/month usage) Verizon will work for typical email and browsing, but if you use it too much you will be terminated.
