The only thing CRST has that we dont is a driving school (Which they generously deduct from your pay over a period of time). the negative responces I see are typical to truck driver mentality (not all but, a large majority, whats up with that?). Thinking about it, would you be able to sleep if you had a driver at the wheel that you could not trust to keep the truck on the road? And as far as policy goes, it's semi-invalid to the trainer on the road because he is going to do things the way he sees the need (or want). Also, read the news paper classifieds and you will find hundreds of driver jobs, but all require experience, so how do you get a job if you don't have experience?, and how can you expect to get payed a darn thing when you don't have experience. Driver school and mentor training is basically a right of passage. Somehow, someway, everyone must do their time. All this crap about the trainee getting chumped is just that, crap. Sure, in some cases it can go too far, but it's up to the individual to stand up for himself and use the policy's that are in place to protect him as well as the trainer, they do exist.

What is really funny is the guy that is all worked up about riding in a truck with a stranger is perfectly fine climbing into an aluminum tube with a perfect stranger at the controls. "But they have extensive training .." and truck drivers do not?

For those that are all worked up about riding in a truck .. can you tell me the probability of me meeting my fate sleeping in a moving truck?

Myself .. I team with a guy who is learning well each trip and trust the statistical probabilities that present risk in all aspects of our life.

Just in case .. I am pretty spiritually aligned and feel good about my fate after the worms do their stuff ... 8)
