Whose trainers make the most money?

Could any of you driver trainers tell me what kind of $$ I could expect to make once I am experienced enough to train other drivers? I'd really like to hear from happy trainers who are making good money.

Trainers/Money

If you want to be a trainer for the money, you need to change your attitude.

It's my understanding that a trainer will get paid for all miles the truck runs at his CPM rate. BOL

Being a trainer varies from company to company, but most companies generally pay you for all miles driven in the truck, even while the student is driving. You will also get a small bonus once you upgrade the student. Most companies also pay a certain amount of money per day that the student is on the truck. Every company differs after that. Some have plans that pay you after the student is off the truck, like paying .01 per mile for the miles the student runs in their own truck up to 6 months or something like that.

Gotta agree with Sealord though, you don't need to be a trainer if you're only in it for the money.

When the wifey was with U.S.Express she had 3 Trainers and 2 of them used her for logbook and did not train her what so ever until she had a accident then they put her with Jesse which trained her properly and safely,Jesse told her if your not going to produce a good driver then get out of then get out of the Training part of it very true.

Don't blame the "trainers"... blame the system that creates people who are classified as "trainers". This is an industry wide scam.

If the only reason you want to train is for the money then you will have a lot of company. Unfortunately a lot of drivers have absolutely NO training skills, to much ability to brag, brag, brag and the only thing they are good at is cracking the whip over a student they make them more money. There are a lot of companies out there that will gladly pay you to "team" with a student while calling it "training" , however I hope your conscience will be able to handle it if a student of yours wipes out a family because you were to busy counting your money instead of properly training!

Just because I want to make good money while doing it doesn't mean I'm interested in training ONLY for the money any more than a doctor or an actor or a professor who are paid well do their jobs ONLY for the money. Being well paid doesn't make one less conscientious, either. Pay varies a lot in this industry, and I would like to hear opinions from someone other than company recruiters.

All I ask is that you give me the benefit of the doubt on this one. I drove a truck and trained drivers back in the day, and have been a school teacher since. Just want to get well compensated for professional and responsible teaching.
