Question: "No Contract In California?" CLARIFIED

I keep seeing posts lately that mention contracts between a CDL Company sponsored school and the students are not legal in the State of California. What are the details of his rumor and does anyone have any concrete info to back this claim with? Am I misunderstanding what I think I'm reading?

If this is indeed true, please send me a link to this info. It sounds very interesting, but I haven't found anything that gives the specifics.

It seems that this info that is floating around is incorrect as California is a very litigious state and most rely on contractual agreements for most business/service transactions.
