What to do??
Ok so first I get forced to take this load after I had already made it home and put myself OOS. Even though this company has NO forced dispatch... yea right!
So I dropped yesterday at 9am in Ennis Texas. Well I was told by dispatch to go to this little TS off 45. Once I got there I messaged him on the QC and told him I don't feel safe there at all. But he told me to stay there. So I woke up this morning and still didn't have a load out of here so I messaged them and told them I could not stay at this place any longer that I was moving. So they tell me to go to Dallas... Ummmm hello??? So now I am sitting here at the TA in Dallas and definately don't feel safe. I am by myself and what happens if I have to use the bathroom tonight??? So here I sit still no load and probably won't get one... What do I do? |
personally, i go where i'm comfortable. it's your safety, not his.

Guess no one told you about the bucket with a trashcan liner you carry with you for "emergencies". BOL

There's a WalMart down I-35E a coupla miles that I used to park at, and they were always nice about it. Exit 414 |
So you think it would be safer there?
|
For sure. Last time i was there they didn't mind how long I stayed as long as I didn't litter, or block any 4-wheeler spaces

an excellent "bucket", if you Google: TravelJohn, there is a description on their website. This is no joke. I get mine at the Pilot's shop at a local small airport. |

get a very small trash can - double bag it - tie it up tight when finished and throw the bag away in the morning. As long as you tie it good ... there's no need to worry about spills or smell. Then use the trash can for daily trash. A lot of lady drivers do this all the time. Keep yourself safe and stay inside your truck.

First of all... CONGRATULATIONS on finding a place to park at the T/A. Of course, it may be a bit easier to find one there than the Pilot.
You'll most likely survive the night there. Even a couple of nights. As they said, lock your doors and stay in the bunk. Did you get lucky enough to find a place near the building or did you have to park back in the "party row"? If you're in back now, see if you can move up front in the morning when spaces open up. You'll most likely just set the brakes in your new space and get a message to pick up a load. Remember that spray bottle I talked about on another thread? Mostly water, and a little soap. (Ever get shampoo in your eyes in the shower?) But, me personally, I'd be shopping for another company. |
Just curious, maybe I missed this on another 1 of your posts, but what company do you work for?

There is a small Love's on 45 across from the weight stations, between 273 and 271. I stayed there two nights ago, and didn't see anything like the 470 Lancaster stuff going on.

HIKING SUPPLIES
I don't know what a TravelJohn is, but I'll Google and find out. I need to find a product I saw in a catalogue years ago for women hikers. In the meantime, I have found that a good container is one of those super-large plastic FOLGERS GROUND COFFEE containers. The lid snaps on to hold whatever is inside. Yes, it is a serious problem all right. Also, to be techical for women only -- skirts are definitely easier to handle than trousers. Let's get back to being old-fashioned ladies. Maybe they knew a thing or two!
