Question about osteoarthritis and driving
Anyone have any idea what the rules are in regards to a person driving that has osteoarthritis in their hip? I have a friend that wants to drive but they are uncertain as to what the rules are on this. This guy works out a a gym 4 days a week lifting weights and also rides a bicycle. There is no pain or loss of strength. He can't do marathons anymore though. I've tried to find information on this issue on the forums but came up with nothing.
If someone has has any experience personal or otherwise on this I would appreciate any constructive and or informative comments you can offer. I did make a copy of the DOT's medical examination report and there is nothing in the examination report that addresses arthritis issues that would or should pose a problem for him in real life. |
I'm not a DOT regs. Expert concerning Medical but I've never seen anything regarding his physical problem.
One thing you might want to pass on to him-Have him pick up Cod Liver Oil Capsules-It works well with joint pain-Also Omega 3 |
good Luck
I would never admit that I had arthritis ... even if the state/fed said it's ok ... who would hire them?

Thanks yoopr!

How many of us are perfect though? Everyone has some kind of baggage they carry around, either mental or physical.
But everyone has their Achilles heal I suppose. In all seriousness I wish your friend all the best. I hope he keeps working out and "flips off" the condition on a regular basis. |
