I am in school right now. And that is what all the instructors told me when I started.

I had never driven a stick shift before I got to school. On my first drive, my instructor told me I learned how to do it much quicker than people who had to unlearn what they already knew. After just a couple of hours of practice on a empty stretch of road, I was out in traffic. My shifting is still a little rough on the downshifts. But my instructor said that it will smooth out with just a little more practice.
