Well abit nervous. Monday morning will be here before I know it. Being away from home 9 weeks will not be fun, but I figure it sure beats 6 month deployments (prior Navy), so I can handle it. I have a question though anybody that has attended swift training do you go to class 7 days a week? If not do you get the weekends to practice on the range and what not? I'm hoping for 7 days as being new to trucking I want all the information I can get.
When I attended, it was Monday thru Saturday with Sunday's off.

I agree I have been solo with swift for about 3 months now out 4 weeks home 3-4 days . And me also if im not home im running i usually aim to get around 2800 miles a week and just about every week except my home time i get it or more. Just all depends on how hard you want to run. I have no complaints about them at all. My DM works with me really good. I live in Ohio, and my daughter lives in Cali I have seen her twice since I have started here and it wasn't considered off time because I did a 34 restart there. So unless I get that once in a lifetime job im here to stay.

its good to hear ppl voicing there opinions, i can respect there views, there will always be some negative and some positive about any company, no one or no company is perfect.
As i see it Swift has giving me the opportunity to join them and thats more then i can say for a handful of other companies i applied for.
Maybe for experienced drivers its not so hot, but being new to the industry i dont think there too many better ones to get a start........of course I can go else where after a yr or so.

thats just my .02 as i see it.

I will be getting on the bus to SWIFTS school in San Antonio this coming Tuesday. I am nervous to boot but that is to be expected with any major change. My recruiter has been nothing but nice and has called me a few times to make sure this was what I really wanted to do. Was even understanding when I needed to postpone my departure for the school by a month.

Don't know if I will be going now. Got a hair up my butt this morning and checked my BP on my grandmas machine and it read 150/101

Don't know if its a lack of sleep or what I'm on 2 hours right now. Going to GEt a good nights sleep and go see the doc in the morning. No point in me going up there if my BP is Going to auto fail me.
