I can see how an IT degree could become dated, dle. I initially studies computer programming for a year before going on to to study marketing and management at a major university. At that time, we had to write a program, have key punch cards done and input those into the computer. If the program didn't work, we got to do it all over again. A small computer was the size of a freezer. Things sure changed. Today you can skip the key punch cards and find out if your program is going to work in minutes (maybe). I suppose that I am dating myself. :?

Experience is never wasted. I have been a salesman and marketing manager for most of my life, but I have also been an auto mechanic, electronics technician, and copier repairman. If you're tired of something you should go do whatever it is you want to do. The only waste of time, I believe, is the time spent doing something that no longer interests you.... I've been a trucker for 5 months, plan on working another 5 years. |
