Default Understanding the Federal “SAFER” report

Checking KKW Trucking Inc. Federal Safety and Fitness report (SAFER).
I find four companies; two of them have the same address as KKW but they both only have one “power Unit”.
Both companies only do “Intrastate Only”
The job is for western 11 states, so what am I missing.
Checked Knight Transportation the company has one “Power Unit” that has had

Inspections 19 Drivers 25

And their MCS-150 Miles for 2017 is 1,000. So 25 drivers shared one truck and only did 1,000 miles???

Checked Swift Transportation
Power Units 17,819
Driver 21,613
MCS-150 Miles 1,918,576,289

The average miles per driver are 88,769 for the year.
Swift also had 66 drives die in 2016 and 656 injured. Drive safe everybody.

If Swift is paying .40 per mile the average salary is $35,507 per year.

Just doing research on the companies; looking for a good fit.
Does anybody use https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx to check out a company?

I can see from some of the information its BS.
I am not considering Swift just did this as a comparison.

You really need the carrier number to look a company up properly on there. So many company names are similar. Some go by Inc, that little 3 letter symbol added on bring up a plethora of different companies of the same name.

What are you wanting to check? All carriers are required to update their pcs150 every two years. My state requires an update annually before I can renew my cab card. It sounds like you are looking for a company driving job but you post wasn't completely clear. If you are wanting to check their safety record, it takes several inspections before a carrier is given a safety score. The best source of information is directly from the source. I would start there. I would question the miles driven with only 1,000 showing. If the carrier is a start up there would not be many miles to report. On the other hand, if he has been in business for at least 6 months, there should be more of a history.
