Default Finally........

I treated myself to something i want for my birthday, this is my Cobra 29LTD, I've had this little radio for almost 7 years now, it's got a pretty hefty peak and tune on it, pushing upwards of 70watts, and today i just went and gave it a facelift, along with a new Astatic mic. Anway, just thought others might appreciate the customness of this radio, definately the first one i've seen like it.

I can't ask for much more as far as price is concerned, it gets out good, receives good, just an all around good radio. Gotta save up a little and get a Wilson antenna for it, i currently run a Francis 4ft fiberglass, pretty good, but the guy at Mesa CB here in Wildwood told me to run the Wilson for best performance, maybe before long i'll be talking to Texas.

I'm 'somewhat' happy with my Galaxy 949. It transmits good (putting out about 29 watts), but the reception is pretty much crap. I've installed my own coax and Wilson 2000 antenna, but it really didn't help much.

One thing I don't like about it is the side-mount mic. Makes it a SOB to install in the overhead compartment of a Freightliner.
