Default TN revoking Swift Licenses given over past couple of years

This is actually a serious inquiry...A friend of mine who went through the Swift Academy with me about 2 years ago received a letter from the state of TN stating that all class A CDLs given by the Swift Academy from the past few years (since 05, I think) will be revoked in 90 days. ALL CDL holders must go through testing again.

It is a legit letter from the state. We've both moved on to different companies immediately after the academy. We've both switched our licenses over from TN to our different home states.

I've not had a solid address so did not receive the letter. Changed my address about 6 times since then.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Could this be possible?

We all know the school is not up to standards but can this legally happen?

If anyone knows anything please let me know..
Thanks

If your unsure, get ahold of TN or your home state and ask them about where your license stands. If they are anything like VA, they will revoke your license even if you did not recieve a notice. They claim it's your fault for the US Mail not being able to deliver it. If your friend got a letter and his is now registered in another state, then your sure to get one since you went thru with him.

Buddy who went thru class with me that lives in MI got the letter today. I called IN and they told me my CDL is in good standing and not to worry about it.

But I also had to retake all the test to get my IN CDL all but the skills. where in MI they just swapped his out. Can you smell the lawyers waiting to sue. Swift just voided all their contracts when ppl lose what they payed for. should be entertaining to watch it play out and what Swift does to fix the issue.

As they told you this contract is to get you your CDL not a Job w/Swift

I think the SKILLS part is what is in question with anyone who went to the swift school. It seems the testers neglected to administer that part of the test to a lot of the students. So you may not be as safe as you think.

I went thru a Swift school in Idaho, they didnt show the backward serpentine or the paralell back....so what. does that make me 'unsafe'? hardly. I had the proper schooling, got my CDL from whats known as the 3rd or 4th hardest state to get a CDL Class A from (CA and NY being the top two), and a mentor who taught me well. I feel i am a safe driver.

It's not about whether you feel your are a safe driver or not. It's about whether or not you were trained and tested to proper standards.

agree with that statement, however i did pass the test in one of the hardest states to get a Class A CDL. So i say i must be above satisfactory. ;-)

good for you, apparently those that went to the Swifty school in TN can't say the same.
