I googled " How to write a resume" and it brings up alot of sites but they all want money. Does anybody know of any sites that will show you samples of what resumes look like??
I have no clue on how to even start to write a resume. All the driving jobs i ever had i just filled out a job app. and called it a day. So if you can give me a website or maybe Email me a sample that would be great.
My girlfriend was home from college this weekend but we never got around to it. We had better things to do if you know what i mean
Thanks
Mackman

if you go to websites like Careerbuilder.com or Monster... they will help you build one up... give that a try.. also mackman have you tried Craigslist in your area for looking up jobs?? believe it or not.. there's some pretty damn good legit postings that people put up there!!

Go to your local state unemployment office (one-stop), they have everything from individual resume prep assistance and resume review to seminars including interview practice, etc. If you're a vet, ask for the vetrep. All the services are free, can't beat that. BOL

Thanks for the advice sealord. I already made one last night and sent it in. Duie Pyle emailed me back an Application. SO i guess my resume was good enough. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Glad it all worked out for you, Mackman!
For anyone else reading this and wanting info on resumes... IMO unless you're applying for an office job somewhere, your resume isn't all that important. I mean, you should have on and it should be clear and accurate, but trucking companies don't expect resumes from potential drivers. They generally want you to fill out their application and that will suffice.
We've always provided a resume to a potential employer (though we've been O/O for almost our entire trucking carreer). I just think it makes you look more attractive- same as wearing clean slacks and a nice shirt... but, clearly, no need for a suit
I've always gone the Microsoft Word template route or found some other template. My husband bought Resume Maker software once for like $10 and I could have killed him! What a waste!
