Definitely no freight moving there.
Unless you're lugging hoses. :?
I can usually get atleast 3500 miles a week. But I don't mind lugging hoses around to load a dairy.

Too bad this didn't occur during Halloween. After cleaning that silt out of the bed, I swear I had the perfect costume... I looked just like Swamp Thing. If it weren't for my coveralls, I'd probably still be trying to clean that crap out from my car after the drive home.

Dairy isn't a bad gig at all. Do you get to do that exclusively?
I think my least favourite load when I did food grade was soy sauce. It never seems like much, but it's actually quite heavy in regards to its bulk.

Mostly, the only time I have to load a plant is when I go home and the wash tag on the trailer expires.

HI All

Actually 18wheels I have no experience. What is a linehaul job anyway??

Quote: try a contract mail carrier. MCA is a big one, they are mostly drop and hooks, some unloading depending on the depot, but all that involves is rolling carts off. the downside will be the pay and probably having to work nights.

good luck.
Hmmm

Again that sounds good but will they hire someone with no experience and train them?

thanks

Linehaul is basically drop and hook. Typically just swapping trailers from terminal to terminal. Getting that what no experience is tough, but someone did mention ABF I think and I'm pretty sure there was even someone on here who went through their training program that they'll take you with no experience. Ok, excuse the rambling mess. I'm tired. But anyway...
Do you even have a cdl yet?

after i got my CDL, i went to work for ABF. i applied as a city driver.
after i began work there, i realized that i would be working on the dock for a awhile. and, when i got to "bid " 0n a city route, i would be spending my days in and out of traffic and battling the local city streets.
i later realized i could have applied for linehaul driver and avoided all of that dock work crap.

i seriously doubt it, due to the insurance. they might if they're desperate enough. if all you have is a cdl and no experience whatsoever you should listen to all18 and try abf. afaik your only other option would be to "luck" into a small outfit that doesn't pay sh*t and suffer there until you get your year or two.
