Default Hours of driving per day

Hello,

I am starting out in the process of hopefully becoming a truck driver.

If I am fortunate enough to get a job as a company driver working for a company like Maverick Transportation, there is one question I have.

1.Generally speaking, how many hours of driving should I expect to be doing each day,if I am lucky enough to get a position as a company driver with a company?

Thank you for any helpful ideas.

It really depends on which coolie carrier you get hired with.. But regs state 14 hour day with 11 allowable driving hours of the 14.

A "butt cushion" sounds like a very good idea.

They make ones special for the tail bone, and if the seat doesn't have good lumbar support the have those cushions too.

Till you build up 11 to 14 hour sitting stamina.
I can barely last eight hours then my a$$ hurts.
Good luck

 Whats the deal here...Are you intentionally plagerizing CFM there BD??

Isn't "Coolie Carrier" an authenticated CFM forum message??

By the by there newbiehopeful, when these guys (like BD) refer to a "coolie carrier" they are talking about those trucking companies that will use you, abuse you, then throw you away, once you are totally wet.

Cheap pay, long waits for free, illegal logging practices..and stinky a$$ trainers.

When freight's hot and the load's gotta go...12-15 hours of driving and then fudge the book to say 11. When freight's slow...5-6 hours of driving and then sit around twiddling your thumbs in the truckstop for no money.
