Some pics I have seen the operator area has (4) pedals plus one on the drive shaft ??

Left to right what the pedals used for

I assume, right accelerator, next brake, on the d shaft ? , clutch, then the far left?

From right to left it's accelerator, brake then clutch. That 4th pedal you saw in the picture was probably a foot rest on the far left. Some trucks have them and the do resemble a pedal but it's just a place to rest your left foot.

When you say "drive shaft" do you mean the steering shaft that is by the pedals?

I saw one truck with a pedal to adjust the tilting steering wheel. Maybe that's what the other one was for?

Well that would make sense, I don't get to drive anything that fancy

Volvo's are the one's the usually use a pedal for the steering wheel adjustment.

Freightliner also uses the foot button for the steering wheel in the Century Class. Prob do to in the Columbias but since I have never drove one couldn't tell you for sure.

Those adjustment "pedals" look more like the "old fashioned" high beam switch.

In a truck without air brakes there would be a true 4th pedal for the parking/emergency brake.

The non-airbrake trucks I've driven all had a "pull" lever that is either connected to the axle brakes or a driveshaft brake. It's normally mounted on either side of the seat.

Freightliner's MB-II straight trucks equipped with hydraulic brakes have the old school foot pedal to set the parking brakes.

There's 10 pedals. Their functions are, from left to right

1. Clutch
2. Air conditioning
3. Cellular phone pedal with direct line to the US Marshalls
4. Radio station tuner
5. Brake
6. The "Mystery" pedal
7. Steering wheel adjustment
8. Mirror adjustment
9. Gas
10. Bean-o

You forgot the "pump jack" pedal to raise and lower the seat....
