There are walk in clinics all over the country. Just find one who can do the DOT physicals. I think I pay something like $40-60 including the drug test. The drug and diabetic tests are part of the physical. Some truck stops also have clinics set up on the premises to do DOT physicals.

Drug tests are not part of the physical. Drug tests are a separate test under the FMCSA regs.

A diabetic screening is part of the physical. This is usually done with a urine dip, but it can also be done with an Accu-Check type finger poke blood test.

They do the drug and diabetic tests at the same time, where I have my physical.

IIRC it is about $60 and you don't need an apointment just walk in. A call ahead of time makes things a bit smoother but they are really just walk in. Just ask for a DOT physical....they will take care of everything else.

A couple of hints that might make this process a little easier.....

1. If you use smoke, don't for like 12 hours before your physical. It has a tendency to affect your Blood pressure and heart rate and could throw a flag.

2. Avoid caffeine, same thing as above

3. Avoid sugar before your physical, it could throw a spike in your urinalysis making it look like diabetes.

If the company wants it done it certainly can be done at the same time, and if you need to get a drug test anyway, like during a pre-employment, it actually makes sense to do it that way.

Just saying that per the regs having a drug test during the physical is not a requirement.
