Anyone know how many questions on the permit test in Ca ?
On the DMV web site they have two practice test but there only ten questions long. There has to be more to it than that right ?? Appreciate any information on this Thanks
Here in VA these test was broke down in to the selections. General, Air brakes, Doubles/triples. There was about 35-50 question per test. Go to Your local DMV and ask for a CDL drivers manual. Everything in that book is important! especially driving a 70,000 truck study it. BOL on the test is not that hard. Here they allow You to miss like five and if you fail a section and pass the rest the DMV save Your file for like 14 days maybe more?
Here in MD it's pretty close to VA's DMV setup. In MD the general knowledge portion had 50 questions, but if you answered the first 40 correct then your test was complete. Cannot remember the amount that you were allowed incorrect but I do know that it was a very reasonable amount. I can say the same for every other portion of the test.
The combination portion consisted of 25 questions and if you answered the first 20 correct then you were done.
The air brake test consisted of 20 questions and you were done if able to correctly answer the first 16.
The best thing that you can do and trust me it will work, get the CDL Manual from your local MVA and study it by sections (Gen Know/Combin/Air Brk/.
Highlight critical information and take notes on specific numbers EX. 125 psi or placing your triangles 500 ft. to the rear of the vehicle when parked on a hill or curve.
If you study that manual and when go to take your test everything will appear just as it did in the CDL manual.
i believe CA has 45 questions on the general knowledge test.
I just need the Permit befor I show up for school. I do have the Commercial drivers handbook. And the practice test I pull up from the DMV web site are 10 & 20 questions long . For the most part they are common sense type questions. Just trying to figure out how in depth I need to study and know for this Permit test ?
I would study your CA manual very well to be able to pass the CA test. Then you will have to study the Montana manual to pass their test if you are going to Watkins/Shepard.
