Make sure you take a good look at CRETE CARRIER. A great company in my experience. Just make sure you attend a PTDI certified school.

If you want to stay local, try some of the building material/drywall outfits. There are alot out here if you dont mind piece work. If you are from the valley that is. Try not to listen to everyone who bad mouths big companies. They probably got burned somewhere down the line and are now pissed. Do you have your cdl yet?

I went and took my physical and Im ready for the written. I just dont know what I want to do now. I was thinking about going to swift but after hearing everyone on these chats Im not sure thats a good idea, thats why Im trying to get some ideas from you guys. Are all these recruters full of it. Im willing to work 24/7 or as much as I can but Im gonna be hurting if I sign on with someone and cant get enough miles. Thats why im trying to find out who the best would be?

You will never get a straight answer on miles. Things like time of year, how well you get along with DM will make a difference. I wouldn't believe anyone that says they can guarantee you a set number of miles each week. There are drivers who claim X number of miles and others that claim a different number, from the same company. So, it will change. As far as Swift goes, don't believe everything you read here. Most never worked for Swift and are just restating, as their own opinion without facts, what they read somewhere. With any of the big starter companies, you won't receive the warm-fuzzy attention some smaller companies will give you. And, the starting pay isn't that great, but getting better. But, they will get you up and running, and if you keep your nose clean for a year, you can look for greener pastures.

Can you afford/have the credit to put yourself through trucking school? if so, you'll be much better off going that route.
Now if circumstance puts you at Swift, it's not that bad. and neither is it that good. but as i've said before, they do stress safety which is probably the best thing about them imo. running 48 you'll get valuable experience, but the money is not so hot. if you are single, Swift might be ok for you. Family men should stock away a small nest egg before taking the jump.
if you want to know what their school is like do a search on my posts. best of luck to you and yours.
