That's not a good sign. Most companies that pay well don't have too many trucks sitting.
I applied to one of those mail jobs awhile back because they advertised hourly pay but the deal was you were paid hourly for what your run would take to complete non-stop at 55 mph. So say you get stuck in traffic/breakdown/fuel/weather/etc, then you're screwed like in OTR. When you hit the USPS sorting facility, you're off the clock while they unload you and then get another backhaul out (this can take anywhere from 2-4 hours or so).
No thanks, not interested! I ain't sittin' around for free like so many of these guys do. I'm out here to make top-dollar for my time/efforts!
