Default Hiring problems

I has in the process of being hired by Schneider when I had such severe cramping in my stomach that I lost consciousness. At the hospital the Dr. told me that because we could pin point the cause I would have no problems obtaining my CDL. AT the DOT physical I told the Dr. about the episode and she approved my obtaining my CDL. Schneider dropped me from the hiring program three days before my training. Does anyone know of a company that will hire me?

The cramping and passing out I've heard before. It's sort of like holding your breath and someone squeezing your stomach until you pass out. We use to do this when we were kids. Severe cramping can simulate some squeezing you and you were probably holding your breath at the same time.

Myself, I would have kept my mouth shut to all those doctors about your CDL and especially to the Schneider doctor!!

Default lost consciousness

You can probably pass any company's physical just by keeping your mouth shut about your medical condition. But, you really must ask yourself and your doctor, "Could this happen to me again?" Because, if you lose consciousness while driving an 18 wheeler down the highway at 65 mph, you are very likely to kill yourself or someone else. [/i]

You need to know the answer to some questions.

Can this happen again?
If so how likely is it?
Is any medication I am taking for this problem likely to interfere with me safely operating an 80,000 lb vehicle?

If you and your doctor(s) can reasonably be certain that your problem is under control and your doctor is willing to attest to that in writing then continue with your search for a company.

I would not hide the condition however, because if it should happen again you will be left holding the bag for any and all damages caused by you passing out.

Someone asked what caused the loss of consciouness. It was due to constipation, and then pushing too hard. The Dr. said that causes a .... Vega Vega episode. Being it gave me 20-30 minutes pre warning, there would be no danger of losing consciouness while driving. Also, we all know what to do to prevent something like this from happening, therefore I can prevent it from happening ever again!

CFI said they would hire me, is there any others?

If CFI will take you... Why look any further??? They are the best you are going to find.

I've never worked for CFI, but from the things I've heard about them, there are a few at that level, but then it goes downhill from there. They come in at about the best you're going to find to learn to drive. I've heard some rank them above Schnieder. Go for it.

Ok, so you have something that is esily treatable and controllable.

As far as CFI goes, you could certainly do a lot worse than them.

Default Constipation

Eat three of four meals in a row at a truckstop before your next DOT physical, you'll not have to worry about constipation any longer. BOL
