Wichita Falls, Tx flooding.

Here are some pictures of the flood that we have had for almost the whole month of June.

Here is the Holliday Inn on US HWY 287/I-44

Here is a Holliday Inn company van in the back of the parking lot, towards the Wichita River.

According to the sign off of US HWY 287/I-44, you can buy 15 acres of, water. :P That is actually an open area for sale, north of the Holliday Inn.

Here is the parking lot behind the Texas Tourist Center that is about a quarter mile north of Holliday Inn.

This is the main gate going into Lucy Park. It is just west of US HWY 287/I-44. The Wichita River is about a mile beyond those trees.

Here are a couple of shots from the Red River on I-44. Wonder how long it's been since there has been that much water. :P (normally, it's almost dry)

It's pretty bad. Ya know, I have seen this type of flooding on TV. Like, down south, near the gulf, and other parts of the country. I never could imagine it ever happening here, but it is here. It's crazy.

What's funny, I bet, in 2 months, we will have a drought. When everyone gets ready to work the ground to start sowing wheat in a couple of months, it will be bone dry. :P

Who knows. This summer may not be a 110 degree summer, but I bet it does before the fall.

just imagine when the rain stops and the water collects in low areas and watch the mosquitoes come out with vengeance.

wow-Reminds me of when I trucked through St. Louis years ago when they had massive flooding.

You're getting all the rain and we're getting none this year.

The city here is having quite a time trying to keep up with them. And the flood water here is full of nasty crap now...so they really don't want them carrying disease to the whole town.
