Flats / Steps: NC to Northeast $3.15 / mile Daily Foliage / Tree Loads

I’m going to be trying out a new gig in a week or so and the broker begged for my help with filling these loads, so here goes.

LANES:
North Carolina (couple different locations) to a variety of customers in PA, NH, ME, CT, NY and maybe other states as well. One pick / one drop as far as I know.

EQUIPMENT:
Flats or steps are required. Mesh tarp (nursery tarp) is required (load will be trees and other foliage). If you don’t have a mesh tarp, there is a place near the nurseries where you can buy them.

PAY
Pay is COD and will start out at $3.15 per mile, and be adjusted as necessary for fuel.

Apparently the way it will work is the following:
You will generally be able to pick your destination from the pool of loads available at the time. You will essentially be running directly for the shipper, but your primary point of contact would be the agent. When you get to your delivery, before you unload, you get a check from the receiver made out to you for the full amount of the load and then you write a check to the broker for his cut ($100 - $150 depending on the load).

The agent is looking for regular trucks that he can depend on to haul as many of these as possible throughout the season. They are shipping like crazy now and will run up until it gets too hot (I’m guessing June) and then resume again in the Fall once things cool down a bit.

I’ve done a few loads for this agent and so far he’s shown himself to be a decent, old-school guy that likes building relationships. I haven’t gotten out of the West yet to run one of these loads myself, but sounds good to me, especially the “COD” and high volume parts.

Anybody interested in this or wanting more info, PM me and I’ll be happy to put you into contact with the agent.

Music,

Are they full loads only or do they ship some partial loads?

I sent you a P.M.

From what I understand, all loads have been one pick, one drop, full loads.
