Wow. Nothing like not giving anyone time to respond. I had something to contribute but now I'm not going to.

Don't bother especially with that load school. The only people that are concerned about you getting their Journeyman Certificate or their next step up is that school and the brokerage that is next door and who is also owned by the same guy who owns the school. There are many other training programs that are out there. You might want to check out these choices:
Dispatcher training | CoverLoads.com
Freight Broker Training, Become Freight Broker, Freight Agent
Freight Broker Training and Consulting Services

Another option is to find a brokerage that offers training --- good luck. You may also see ads in the truckers newspaper for truckalocity - that is the brokerage I mentioned above -- they only hire graduates from the school next door. The only other brokerage that i have found is SPI International Transportation | Freight Broker and Logistics Management .

I have taken the freight broker boot camp course and the taltoa course, and I'm a field rep for SPI. Go ahead and mention my name - Dennis Etheridge.

Thank you for the reply Dennis. I haven't been on here in a while but I will still look into the option I asked about. There are some good people here that are sincre and willing to help and I appreciate this. Be Safe... :)

So any updates?

What are you interested in learning about in regards to brokering? I have recommended to other driver friends to check into becoming an agent first while still learning through a year or two of being an agent and then starting a brokerage of their own. Especially because of the increase in the bond requirement.

How did you like the Taltoa program? And did it help you? I myself am currently interested in frieght brokering agent. With little experience in driving, more health care work. My husband though has 10 yrs under his belt.

I'd avoid the offer listed in the OP for a few reasons.

1. Price $800 is pretty steep considering there are groups offering this training with placement for $350-$500
2. Reference to "Journeymen" certification. Such BS. You are either a duly licensed and Bonded Broker with an MC number or you are an agent of the same. There is none of this Journeymen crap.
3. $400 credit towards any 5 or 7 day hands on class. Because it's totally worth to save money on the chance to give you more money? When your training clearly wasn't good the first time?
4. MC Data Base <-- why? If I want info on a business I'll use integrated tools in load boards or the FMCSA and Google.

I could keep going but I think I made my point.
