where the heck are the trucks?

hi everybody, i've been trying for months to find trucks in various areas where i get freight but i haven't been able to do it. i go on the boards and there will be like 1 or 2 in the area. is there a better way to find drivers besides getloaded?

Internet Truck Stop, DAT.
If you have good rates people will call you.

If you are having trouble finding trucks, you need to raise your rates. I will go about anywhere if the money is right. There are other like minded owners who feel the same way.

Yup! I agree. There is definatly no shortage of trucks, just shippers with a shortage of willingness to pay a reasonable rate. If you have money (good money) you should have no problem finding someone to haul your freight. Just like anything else though, you get what you pay for!

There are quite a few owners who have parked their trucks this year rather than to haul freight for free. My truck hasn't moved all week. I do have a load on the truck that I picked up yesterday which pays pretty well. Otherwise, I would continue to sit. I can't see hauling freight for someone who is making a profit on my efforts and who wants to deny me making a profit. Without the trucks to deliver the freight the shipper or broker can't make money. It is cheaper to sit than run a truck for free. At least if it sits you are not wearing your truck out and waisting your time for nothing. There is plenty of freight around if you don't care about making a profit. Finding decent paying loads sometimes takes a little longer.

X2!!!!! Screw the shippers, agents, brokers and everyone else that expects a truck to haul a load where they all make a profit and the truck makes zero. I too will sit and even DH home regardless of where in the country I am before I haul a cheap load.
