My Aunt just lost it all
Well Thursday my aunts home went into foreclosure, then that same night she got a DWI while driving with her 8 yr old son in the car (She is quite the alcoholic), so Thursday she lost her home, her license, and worst of all, her son!
Quite honestly I don't feel bad about her losing her license, she should of never gotten it back anyway, she lost her license 10 years ago for a bunch of DWI's, and it took her all of them 10 years to fight to get it back. It cost my grandmother nearly $50,000 to get her her license back. Not to mention my Grandmother worked her tail off to buy that house, and provide her and her son with a roof over their heads before she passed away 6 months ago. Quite honestly after my grandmother passed, I gave my aunt 6 months max before she did lose it all, sadly I was right :(. |
You posted this in the Family Support Forum and frankly, Matcat, I cannot support your aunt for endangering a child like that. :hellno: I hope she goes to jail for a long, long time. :pissedoff:

I think Matcat was just venting a little. It does help to just get it out of your mind as you type it out. The battle with alcohol is one that is never won. Some demons just cant be beat.

I agree 100%. I never asked for support for her ;)
I hope that it all worked out in some way for the better Matt? You've certainly had your share of hard luck lately. As for dobry4u. I am going to have to assume that she was just doing a read-through and didn't take in to account the pain that you were dealing with over this tragic situation. |

It is a lot less pain if the kid was killed in a car accident. I had a good friend lose two children when they were on visitation with their father who was driving drunk. |
I don't usnderstand anyone making the decision to drive drunk with their flesh and blood in the car....or anyone else. Alcohol takes too many lives (whether it kills or not)...I am sad for the situation, Matt. I hope your cousin gets proper care. I've known mothers who drink that still take good care of their children...but illegal is still illegal and a person cannot dodge the bullet forever. I am so sorry that your hardworking grandmothers' dream did not come to fruition. Nobody can enable you aunt now, though. I'm sorry you are close to this.
