Med Card/DOT Physical
 

I had a current medcard through 7/13, but a job that I am being hired for required a new physical from their company doctor, so I now have a 1 year card due to Sleep Apnea that expires in August of 2013. The question is, IF I am offered employment by a company that provides better job, with better pay and better hours, am I under any obligation to reimburse the company that paid for the physical? Do I just throw away the old card and switch to the new one? I have never had two valid ones at one time before; I always waited until it was expired before I replaced it.

Too late for the company to ask you to pay. Their doctor probably isn't worth 20 bucks anyway, and doubles as a forklift driver.

I'd say keep both cards, it's like a double barrel shotgun.
You can choose to drop'em like a pair of Ace's, if your facing a whole room full of DOT.

Just give them one driver's license though. :)

Thanks Roadhog. Kind of my thoughts too. This is the first time I had my dot physical done by a Chiropractor.

Your latest card good until Aug. '13 would be the one I present, anyway.
1 year cards aren't too bad.
There are 6 month and 3 month cards, which really have tight restrictions, and I don't think you are allowed to keep more than one.

The doc's still have to be certified.
I've even renewed my med card once, through a physician's assistant.

Never heard of a Chiropractor doing med card exams.
In the old days, a chiropractor danced around a fire, with a big baby rattle.
They just dress different now.

What do you mean "a dr still has to be certified"

Chiropractors are qualified to do driver fitness exams.

Now, I'll admit I haven't been there in a while (like a couple of years), but I remember a Chiropractor had an office at the Flying J in Lake Station, and did DOT physicals.

sorry for my bad attitude toward doctors... which is expanding into all healthcare now.
I'm in the sheit ... man.
I'm in my third year of battling an illness, and they are coming at me with leeches now, and sticking electric shock wires in sensitive places.
I swear, every time before I pass out, I see one of them dancing around with a snake rattle and some garlic.

DOT Med card?
 

If you really want to mess with the company, get recertified from your original card or the original place you went to for your DOT physical. If DOT stops you, they usually ask for the long form. The card just doesn't seem to hold much weight in their eyes. You only have to produce ONE medical ceritfication if you are stopped and they ask for it.
