How DOT Compliance Scam groups are targeting you?

One thing that has come to the notice of everyone in the trucking industry is the rise in the number of DOT scams over the years. Several players in the trucking industry have started to receive letters and emails from scammers in their city who pressurize them to act immediately. These companies are agents that want you to sign up for their services and they claim they will simplify your DOT compliance procedures in exchange for a fee. But the way they threaten the trucking company in these letters that they will have to pay up several thousand dollars in fines and penalties if they don’t sign up is totally uncalled for. It is advised to stay aware of such scammers and never fall for their marketing gimmicks or any of their pressurizing tactics. Of course, there are several ways to identify whether the company or individual sending out these emails to you is legitimate or not. But not every trucking company or their representative can act diligently almost immediately. Therefore have a look at the following rules that you must always remember whenever dealing with such people in the future:

1.Always associate with a reputable DOT compliance company or agent or third party consortium that can help you out with your compliance responsibilities on time

2.Do not under any circumstances give away any of your sensitive documents or critical information to these individuals or companies

3.Never ever share your financial information with these entities regardless of how hard they try to intimidate you

4.It is important to get their email address and verify whether their company is legitimate or not

5.Do not fill any of the forms that come attached with their emails and newsletters

6.Do not fall for their claim that your DOT number will be discontinued or that you will have to bear heavy fines if you do not comply on time

However, in the end you should always make sure that you are actually compliant with the department of transportation and its various rules and regulations. The most practical approach is to associate with a dependable DOT compliance company that understands your business. They can help you with all the compliance requirements that you have to fulfill to stay functional in the industry.

If you are receiving calls or emails for enrollment with any random company do not get anxious, you can ask other people working in this industry for verification or can call the company for assurance.
