Default It passed, 65 mph in Ohio starting in July

Not really late summer but around the 4th of July.

I bet the bears will crack down very hard from now until the speed limit goes up (not that they will lighten up any after the raise).

It will probably take me a while to get use to driving 65 mph when a bear is watching. I know I won't be the only one!!

Ohio to allow truckers to drive 65 mph in 90 days

The measure will allow truck drivers to push the pedal to up to 65 mph on the state's interstates, instead of the current truck speed limit of 55 mph.
The Associated Press
4/2/2009

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A higher speed limit for trucks takes effect on Ohio interstate highways in 90 days under the transportation budget signed by Gov. Ted Strickland.
The governor put his signature on a two-year, nearly $10 billion transportation spending plan at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, hours after it passed the Ohio House and Senate. The budget contains about $2 billion in federal economic stimulus money.

The measure will allow truck drivers to push the pedal to up to 65 mph on the state's interstates, instead of the current truck speed limit of 55 mph.
The budget also will let the state seek federal funds to launch passenger rail service connecting Ohio's major cities.
And, the legislation makes extended unemployment benefits available to an estimated 35,000 Ohioans.

Just my luck... I stop driving back and forth across OH on a daily basis to do local work and the limit is raised. Oh well, enjoy it for those still out there.

Illinois has a law working it's way through the system to do the same.

Now if CA would just follow suit... naaaaa, never happen.

I'm surprised the Feds haven't out and out mandated states to rid the split speed limit because of the safety issue it causes.

Kalifornia is thinking about banning black colored cars because they use too much energy to cool off in the summer heat.....morons.
