Why???

Why would any driver decide to blindside into a space next to another truck when there's plenty of room to do a sight side back and to top it off there's 2 empty spaces on the right side and 4 or 5 empty spaces on the left? The end result is my truck now needs a new front bumper, hood, fender mirror, headlight and right door mirror! Luckily another driver parked on the other side of the lot caught it all on his dash cam and called my company to report it (and sent in the video!), the non-English speaking 'driver' that hit my truck started to leave but decided to stay when confronted by the good Samaritan! I have no idea who that guy is but THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

I am glad that you got the guy.

It's really amazing finding a Samaritan when you need one, but I bet the hard part is finding an interpreter, who also speaks non-english.

It's getting cray-cray out there. :)

i liked the o/p's posting.

however, i could not "like" it as there is no "like" button.

that's at the very least something that should be here.

which is the need nowadays for dash cams. i do not have one myself, but my question would be, "how much power do they use", and could you leave one on for say at the very least a 48 hour time span, when you are say at home for the weekend?

Yes you can leave it on for that long, the problem would be the length of time it saves. I had a cheap one (now broken) that was on a 15 min. or so continuous loop, fine for driving but an obvious shortfall.

As far as a good Samaritans, I was very surprised! He not only had video but also walked up taking pic's and got involved, the semi non-English speaker even admitted that's why they stuck around! but I already said that didn't I?(getting old!)

ok, 15 mins, i get that, but does it also depend on the speed one records at and maybe the size of the memory card installed?

like the old VHS days, we could record EP, long time, but quality is low.

or SP, shorter time, but quality is excellent.

jus'ah wonerin'

Yarrrrh m8.
Some of the new dash cams will even take a 512gb memory card... but most are aboot 128gb storage size, with adjustable resolution bit rates to get more recording time.... me thinks, sez aye. Arrrrrh

Thing that gets me most aboot this derelict driver, besides the low IQ, is how in the hell does someone even qualify for a CDL-A, and they can't speak english?, and I assume read english either. :roll3:

I got my truck back from the shop! YEA!!The loaner was a 2014 FL with 420,000 but had so many rattles I just about went deaf and it shimmied around 55-60mph and they had it set at 62 on the pedal and 65 on cruise. It took some getting used to coming up on a slower vehicle and the ON_GUARD would slow me down then when I'd get a chance to pass I'd pull out and step on the go pedal and the truck would SLOW down! But that's all behind me now. I have all my stuff back like XM a soft comfy bed to nap in and a softer and quitter ride. Yeah, I guess I'm spoiled.
