Happy independence day
I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day. I recently read an article where the writer interviewed a number of people who did not know the reason we celebrate the 4th of July. I suppose history is no longer taught in our schools. It is the day we celebrate our independence from a tyrannical ruler, England. As we enjoy the fireworks, cookouts and barbeque, I hope we take time to reflect on the sacrifices those who fought for our independence made so that we could be a free nation. Their contribution and sacrifices led to the creation of the worlds largest economic and military power on the planet. Many drivers will be on the road during this holiday weekend. Some will be drinking or be hurrying to get back home. We need to be especially careful during this long weekend. Enjoy the holiday. Happy 4th of July!
