Two very dear friends of mine are in desperate need of assistance. Jeff is a truck driver but is unable to work because of issues with his gall-bladder. They can't get anyone to do the surgery on him because they have no money to pay for it and no health insurance. He's been out of work now for about 2 months. Even when he was working, they struggle to get by. They literally live in a slide-in pickup camper built in 1971.

He needs to go talk to a county social worker and get on medical assistance. Sounds like the conditions are right for him. His life depends on it.

Had a buddy they said was not eligible. 7 months later he came up with cancer. Suddenly, they could help him.

Oftentimes, hospital social workers can assist with matters such as these; so can medical schools.
