A Firearms Refresher Course

Firearms Refresher Course ... Simple as this!

1. "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." ~Thomas Jefferson

2. "Those who trade liberty for security have neither." ~ John Adams

3. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

4. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

5. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

6. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

7. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.

8. Know guns, know peace, know safety.
No guns, no peace, no safety.

9. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

10. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

11. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

12. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights Reserved.

13. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

14. What part of 'shall not be infringed' do you NOT understand?

15. Guns have only two enemies; rust and politicians.

16. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

17. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

PLEASE PASS THIS 'REFRESHER' TO TEN FREE CITIZENS. "I love this country, it's the government I'm afraid of"

So riddle me this, do you believe it should be legal to own a bazooka? There are certain firearms that simply do not belong on the market as they can be used as a weapon of mass destruction. For every few hundred thousand firearm owners that will use those weapons responsibly and safely there is 1-2 who will use them very irresponsibly.

I do find it odd that people believe certain guns/all guns should be outlawed yet it's perfectly legal to own a tank and NOBODY is attempting to outlaw that.

golfhobo 01-01-2013 09:51 PM

Well, I suppose it depends on HOW you read the 2A.... and whether you want to ignore the "militia" clause.

But, it makes me wonder. IF I could afford to buy a Mig-29 and I used it to "flatten" a schoohouse full of children... would they want to outlaw ownership of Migs? Or would they claim I was just a crazy guy exercising my 2A rights?

As for your question about a Bazooka? Don't know if THEY are illegal, but I bet personal ownership of Stinger missiles are! So... I guess certain "arms" ARE illegal. Even in America!

But, hey... don't tell the NRA!

Are you comparing a bazooka with what has been labeled an assault weapon? There are already laws re: owning military weapons. Yes there may be 1 or 2 nutcases who obtain guns legally or illegally. So are you advocating responsible gun owners be held accountable? Since drunk drivers kill people should we hold ALL responsible drinkers accountable?

Well if you can afford a tank you can buy a politician.

OK, Just to make sure I went and looked again, twice! The funny thing is nowhere did I ever mention a tank/bazooka or a MIG-29. So why don't we try to be a little more realistic? that was very left-wing NRA hateing type speech from both Ford and Hobo.
If you want to disuss this fine but lets leave out the tanks planes an anti tank weapons after all they are a non-issue

Exellent post RebelDarlin! Actually ya might be able to get the politician cheaper!

Repete... neither Mr. Ford nor I were really referencing your original post. In fact... I don't think you posted it as a point of discussion. It was just one of those "email thingies," and I got a chuckle out of it. Not sure about the bazooka reference, buy my mention of the Mig 29 was a throwback to a bit of fun me and Chris were having on another thread. But, since you brought it up... Rebel was addressing the followup conversation between me and Mr. Ford.... NOT your original post... so, why do you give her post credence and not ours?

If I had attempted to "debate" every point in your post... you'd have complained that I was getting too serious or something. BTW.... I'm pretty sure there are at least 13 more gun owners today so... let's call it 65 million... whaddaya think?

If it's an apology you want for hijacking your thread.... you got it. Sorry, man.

In all honesty?? I liked her post better!

A tank(or a mig-29) is a piece of equipment. The means to arm them are illegal. A bazooka is legal, the explosive shell is not. A stinger is legal, the warhead is not.(along with the acquisition computer)

Holding the correct license you could possess the explosive for any of them. Use of the explosive in the wrong way is illegal. No license is needed for black powder, pack it in a pipe and it's illegal.

Don't like firearms? Don't buy them. Don't like the people that have them? Don't associate with them.

Like firearms? Buy as many as you want/can afford. Buy as many as you can P2P or any other non-tracked sale.

1st a mig 29 isn't covered by the 2A it's covered by the FAA and yes if you have the money you can buy and fly a mig 29... MiG Aerobatic Aircraft for Sale - Used Jet Sales at GlobalPlaneSearch.com

Okay... this thread is getting out of hand. But, I'll play along. [BTW... that WAS (I think) the link I was looking for on another thread.]

You say a Mig isn't "covered" under the 2A. Why not? It's considered an "arm" under international treaties, isn't it? What part of "the right to bear arms" in the 2A restricts (or allows) the right to a Mig?

SOME people want to say the 2A doesn't cover semi-auto "assault weapons," but you want to say it DOES have limits? Please explain.

BTW... I don't think the FAA is the "regulatory" agency. I could be wrong... but, it really doesn't matter.

BTW... good to see you chime in, Flood. Wanna get bloody? Get into the convo(s) in the politics forum. I can't promise I won't shoot back. But, it's all in fun... or at least in the spirit of debate.
