I miss vacation already

How's this for a way to come off of vacation:

Dispatch calls me around noon yesterday with a preplan. The load picks up 150 miles or so from the house today @ 7am. Because of the snow @ home (and being bobtail), I decided to go ahead and leave yesterday and stay at a truckstop close to where the load picks up (plus I wanted some biscuits & gravy).

Got up this morning, checked the truck and everything was perfect. Drove the final 30 miles to the shipper with no issues. Dropped the trailer so they could load it (chemical plant - drivers don't go through the gate). Waited just under 5hrs for them to get it loaded. Once the trailer was back, I did all of my paperwork to be faxed to Canada and set to hooking back up to the trailer.

While I was hooking up/sealing/placarding, I spotted a damn flat tire on the tractor.

So, now I continue to sit in the same damn place I've already sat for 5hrs already for God knows how long until they find a Wingfoot dealer somewhere close to Natrium, WV, which isn't close to anything.

BAHHHHHHH

That's what I was going to ask...

As a matter of fact, YES I did

So, are you headed into the bad roads or away from them now? Canada? Which province?

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...c27d83f71d.gif I'm having a rough time too.
My sister brought me some scalloped potatoes with ham, and I ate too much! http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...0/icon_eek.gif

She used that honey-glazed ham left over from New Years... http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...and10/drul.gif

...there's still aboot half left. I'm gonna have to sit here for at least 5 hours it looks like. (Thunk-Thunk) (tapping rock hard belly) http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2.../icon_razz.gif

Mississauga, Ontario - Weather doesn't look too bad for the rest of the trip.

I didn't mind the crossing between Buffalo and St Catharines, and the DEW is a good 4 lane. I think I remember a couple of truck stops along the way too. I never went that way much, partly because of the tolls in NY. Crossing out of NY at Montreal was better than crossing in VT, and VT beat the holy crap out of Detroit.

Have a good trip.

Back in the states. They're deadheading me to Milton, PA for a load. I'm about 50 miles north of there now. Crossed into CA at Buffalo, came back @ Lewiston.

That gives you a nice circle. Couldn't think of the name Lewiston. I've crossed there too. Not to bad. Most of the traffic seems to cross at Derby Line. I always ran into a little backup there, but not as bad as Detroit. Been known to spend some time at Port Huron, but Sault Ste Marie was always good. If your travels take you to Pembroke, ON, stop in at the "Big Irving Truck Stop" there. My wife said they have the best lemon pie in the northern hemisphere. The rest of the food isn't bad either. There are a couple of them between Montreal and Toronto, on the 401 that are good too. I want to say Cornwall, and I do know there is a truck stop there, but I don't think that's the one I'm thinking of. Although, that one's not too bad either. It's been a few years since I've been up there.
