Help!!!!!
I need some actual help here. I have ran into a major issue. I have been running hard and fast for this company, and now they want me to do the imposible, granted I run with loose leaf logs. My drop is in Chicago at 9am eastern time 11/28...then pick up in Channahon IL. at 1400hrs same day...drop that load in Ripon WI. at midnight...then pick up in Abbotsford WI. at 9am and have it back to Burnaby BC in 3 days...somehow I dont think it's possible without some "fixing" of the logs book. HELP!!!! I need to know from those of you that do know that have been around for years....please....

Do you know that you can only work for 14 hours? You can't work from 9am - midnight. Do you know that you need 10 hours in the sleeper? Midnight - 9am is only 9 hours (and then you have to subtract the time it takes to unload and drive to Abbotsford). Btw, fudging logs sounds like an easy fix, but shippers and receivers will write the date and time on your bills when it messes you up the most. <- Murphy's Law, driver's edition. Edit: And then you've got the toll roads problem to deal with. |

And fuel receipts, cell phone usage, you name it, they can find out when/where you've been. Just tell your company "No".
|
Get on the QC and inform them that it can't be done legally.
|
stinkin' dispatchers :roll3:
any fines you get, your boss won't pay for them either. |

Doesn't matter if the company pays the fines or not. The driver is the one stuck with the info on their CSA as well as the MVR. Hell, I have 2 overweight violations from Maryland (under 500lbs each) on my damn MVR.
|
Hope he didn't accept those loads then get on here asking for help...........telling them that it can't be done legally after you've already accepted the dispatch tends to make things go worse for the driver. Even if it's forced dispatch, speak up right away and say it can't be done legally. If your still having problems then a call to Safety can help you out.

thanks...I called the boss and told him I'm not going to be able to do the 3rd pick up at the time it is scheduled for, he in turn got the appointment moved. my Ripon job....LMAO...I get to the place and....OMFG...now they don't do any receiving after 3pm Central time....I got my first off load to take it early, picked up this load early so that I might be able to get time enough to sleep my 10 before picking up the third load, now I'm sitting with my load...of get this....transfat butter.. here in Ripon WI over night and now wont be able to make my appointment for the third pick, Ain't life grand? Oh, the boss is not good at math...he couldn't figure out that it takes 3.5 days to get from WI to BC with a solo driver...he booked it without looking at the time allotment, with a team yes it could be done...maybe he thinks that because I have 2 personalities that I'm a team driver!!!!

I do a minor post trip...But before I start out the day I do do a good pre trip, I check everything, even get out the tire gauge. I see so many others just wake up and go with out checking a damn thing...guess those are the ones leaving the tire pieces on the side of the road, or on the side of the road with the hood open and can't figure out why it broke down because the oil was too low...I do check my tires along the way as well, caught a tire that was on it's way down because of a loose valve stem....fixed it and aired back up...didn't lose a tire because of it....my post trip....I do check out my tires and then do my paperwork...too damn tired to much else...
Remeber to check your fluids before you start out...oh...dont forget....you need rubber to go down the road as well..... |
