Where the heck to mail a package...?
Hubby is on the road - only comes home every 4-5 weeks - and needs to mail a product back to a company (Rand McNally) for an exchange. Of course the replacement piece will be sent to our home; I would like to have it here and available for his truck when he does get home...
What is the best - or any - place to mail out a package via UPS, USPS or FedEx? He has the box the product came in but needs to be able to obtain a box to put that in. I know some truckstops mail out, but none has had the suppies he needs. Thanks in advance... |

Try Staples or Office Depot for the supplies plus they will UPS it for him. Most are in shopping centers, so should be able to get a truck in them without much of a hassle.

Duh...geez...golly George... we've thought of that! He has been running dock-to-dock with little time to spare, never-the-less look for a PO he can access with his truck! He has not run into one (figuratively speaking) either. Thought maybe there were easier to access places that other drivers have found, i.e. certain UPS stores or other big places that may have that service...
There are a few.....VERY FEW.....truck stops that offer USPS services. One that I know of, complete with scales, boxes and tape, is Hank"s on US301 in Orangeburg SC. The Petro in Girard OH offers the same service as well....I think. His best bet, is to check for a Post Office. Usually, if it is a smaller town, a truck can park on the curb across the street, or in the center turn lane, long enough to go in and do business. I have done it many many times. Lot's of smaller towns in America. |

Thanks Orangetxguy! He's not quite southeast enough for your first suggestions, but does run through WY and Portland, OR. Of course he can't get something shipped to him, but I'll be d@#ned if they don't have it shipped to our home before he gets here! I want to make sure that RM gets the very defective unit that I purchased for him so that he has it as an additional tool to use out there in addition to map and routing. The truckstop POIs are nice to have from this particular GPS - we would, however, send it back for a refund if not outside their 30-day mark.
Thanks again... |
