Japanese Quake
By the time you read this, you'll probably already hear that Japan has been hit with the fifth highest quake ever recorded. As I'm writing this, the people there are still being advised to look out for a ten meter tsunami. That's about 30 feet. Don't know how far it's gotten right now, but that's one hell of a wall of water.
One report says a ship in a shipyard with 100 workers on board was washed away and they are looking for it. You guys on the road... You want to keep your eyes open for it? Might be riding on top of that wave. (No, actually, that's not very funny.) The pictures from Japan are showing that, not only vehicles, but also houses and other buildings are being pushed around by the water like a bunch of sea-foam. Cargo ships have been washed inland and are laying on their sides. One report said 500 missing, another said 142 dead. Still another report said 300 dead and missing was unknown. This one is worse, by far, than the one that hit Haiti. (Maybe we can call this one "Obama's Fault") I've been watching things like this. Seems to be more of them, and much more serious. I really don't want to say that it's building up to something, but.... Yellowstone hasn't blown it's lid yet, and 2012 is getting closer...... Just sayin'... |
The waves were done with their dirty work by the time most of us were waking up, and some of us were going to sleep. You gotta remember....it is now close to 2 am Saturday morning, in Japan.

Yes, the nuke situation could turn into another Chernobyl, supposedly there has been a radiation spike around the plant...............
Yellowstone is the one end of world scenario everyone(scientists) are keeping an eye on. They aren't as worried about a meteor strike, the one the Russian's say will hit us in 2036, or the Polar Shift that is so f-ing slow it takes 6,000+ years to happen or Global Warming. They are most worried about the Yellowstone volcano. It is supposed to erupt every 6,000 years I think is what they said, it's been 6,400 years.................Yellowstone sits on what's currently known as the largest single magma pool on earth, if it goes most all of North America will be sitting under 3 ft of ash. Mt. St. Helens will be child's play if this one goes off, bigger than Krakatoa even. Now there is one volcano in the Canary Islands, if it decides to go up, not only will it destroy Europe and Africa with ash, it will put off a Tsunami that early studies show would reach the Appalachian Mountains for the US. |

Current geologic activity at Yellowstone has remained relatively constant since earth scientists first started monitoring some 30 years ago. Though another caldera-forming eruption is theoretically possible, it is very unlikely to occur in the next thousand or even 10,000 years. Scientists have also found no indication of an imminent smaller eruption of lava. I really don't have any worries as an inhabitant of North America, but if I was living in Japan this week, did anyone tell me there was going to be an 8.9 to hit yesterday? |

It hit today!! Of course...you have that whole "International Dateline" thingy.........plus the basic time differential....plus the position of the sun, the moon and Aquarius. Time difference is right at 11 hours.......I think. From Seattle it is a 12 hour plane ride to Tokyo Narita Airport. Non-stop. |

Yuppers! It still has to make it's way to Peru and New Zealand...sometime tomorrow early am. They said it was a 17 foot wave that hit Crescent City CA. Didn't breach the sea wall into the downtown area..........but did flood the river channel and harbor.
How would you like walking down the street, and all of a sudden, a big ole bass falls right in front of ya... Too bad we can't get some of that water. We need rain! It's dryer than a grasshopper on a hot grill! |

I ALSO heard that the "tide" of the tsunami wasn't receding like normal. That is because the tectonic shift was SO pronounced that the LAND sunk by some extreme amount. It seems that some of the coastal communities will forever be under the ocean! Somewhere, a poor Japanese farmer just inherited "beach front property!" Off topic, sort of, but to keep y'all abreast... I just heard that one of the reactors was very close to going critical. A meltdown MAY still be avoided, but it is becoming very "likely." I have a real problem with this! The backup generators failed because they were diesel gens that got flooded out! You're telling me that the nearby U.S. base doesn't have some large capacity diesel gens that could be "heavy lifted" by chopper to the reactor site and "plugged in" in time to avoid this? For that matter.... the country that is supposed to be the MOST proficient in Nuclear power technology (especially given their history,) put their BACKUP gens at SEA LEVEL??? :hellno: This one is worse, by far, than the one that hit Haiti.
