At the risk of getting jumped for it, good riddance to George, RIP Bob. Thank you George for destorying not just baseball but stick and ball sports in general with your wild spending spree's which led to salary caps in those league's which hurt the lesser funded teams who simply can't compete.

Typical Steinbrenner, decides to die the morning of the all star game. Just had to steal the spot light.

Seriously though, I've been a life long Yankees hater and have had nothing but contempt for King George. That was until I heard all day long on the radio about the side of him that very few people saw. Someone with a big heart, who was truly generous to the underprivileged and cared for others despite his persona as a tyrant of an owner.

Maybe when I pass somebody will say, yeah, he was only an A-hole some of the time.

he gave many of his donations anonymously because he didn't want people to know where the money came from. even i was surprised at how truly generous he was with his money.

Ah . . sure, Georgie . . anonymous . . that's the ticket!

RIP to a man of many achievements, maybe even a few positive ones, and who the heck is Bob Sheppard?

That and . . Steinbrenner Family Won't Pay Estate Tax | NBC New York

"Because of a lapse in the federal estate tax, Steinbrenner’s family is saving about $500 million that they would have otherwise had to pay Uncle Sam"
